Cross Connextion operates to inspire urban youth to make positive life decisions based on Christian principles. The primary mode for serving the youth is through our Impact Club meetings on public and/or private school campuses.
A meal is served at our meeting and would consist of 2 slices of pizza, drink, and a sweet. With 90 percent of Compton families living below poverty, for many students this will be their only meal for the day.
Decision-making principles and guidelines are taught through a combination of instructions, interactive activities, and group discussions.
As a supplement to the on-campus meetings, students attend field trips to fulfill educational, recreational, and social needs.
Off-campus meetings are offered for advanced leadership training and spiritual development.
We collaborate with various organizations to accomplish our mission including Faith Inspirational Church, Biola, Azusa Pacific University, Citizens of Zion Church and the Compton Sheriffs.
There is a lot of work that needs to be done if we are to be effective in changing the lives of Compton’s youth. We at Cross Connextion understand that and ask for your prayers and financial support to sustain this great work.

Cross Connextion’s tutors help 6th grade students boost their grades in math and english. Tutors work with students during each period of the academic school day. They develop fun and rewarding relationship with the students while modeling commitment, self discipline and enthusiasm for learning.
The influence of a tutor impacts student’s:
Motivation for learning
Confidence and Self - Esteem
Attitude toward school
Decision to stay in school
According to Great School system, “teaching is one of the most complicated jobs today. It demands broad knowledge of subject matter, curriculum and standards; enthusiasm, a caring attitude and a love of learning; knowledge of discipline and classroom management techniques; and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young people. With all these qualities required, it's no wonder that it's hard to find great teachers.”
In spite of limited resources, many of the teachers at our schools embrace the above qualities by going the extra mile to create a learning environment that helps students feel special and loved. We at Cross Connextion shows our support and appreciation for their hard work and dedication through a teacher recognition program called “Inspire”.
Students are surveyed with the question, “what teacher, faculty or staff person at your school went the extra mile to make a positive difference in your life?...What did that person do?”
The data is tallied and the person(s) with the highest points are honored as the “Student’s Choice for Most Inspirational Person.”
Cross Connextion collaborates with organizations in Compton and it’s surrounding cities to accomplish our joint goals and objectives. We provide finger printing, insurance, training, consulting and other resources.
We are always looking for organizations both near and far who want to partner with us to reach the youth in our community.
